  • Visit the publications web site to verify your name for the yearbook, submit ideas, get senior ad information or order your 2010 yearbook.
This Week in Class
  • In English I, we will focus on short answers and providing evidence by creating a character body map of Odysseus.
  • In Journalism I, we will continue our studies of visual communication, focusing on layout and photography.
  • In yearbook, we are working hard on deadline three, our biggest one so far.

  • In English I, we are taking a vocabulary test and starting the end of Homer's Odyssey.
  • In Journalism I, we are continuing to work on visual communication via photography and digital design.
  • In Yearbook, we are making final edits for deadline two and correcting deadline one proofs.

Weekly Update

Some Announcements
  • Today is the first day of the third six weeks.
  • Thanksgiving break begins next Wednesday, Nov. 25.
  • You can stay caught up on what is going on in my class by visiting the wiki.
This Week in Class
  • In English I, we are continuing to study Homer's Odyssey, updating our college essays and practicing writing short answers.
  • In Journalism I, we are continuing our study of visual communication. Students are taking turns working on two projects: laying out a spread using InDesign and finding examples of good pictures to use in a PowerPoint called Picture Perfect
  • In Yearbook, we are working hard on deadlines one and two. This means about half the book will be finished in the next month, including all portraits. It's lots of work, but it looks good.

Weekly Update

Some Announcements
  • Seniors who didn't get their pictures taken in September can still get their picture in the yearbook. Silver Plate Photography will be on campus tomorrow (Tuesday), taking senior portraits in the front lobby. This is the absolute last chance for a senior to get their portrait in the yearbook.

  • The SchoolCenter Website is "Under Construction," but should be up and running by week's end. You can still access what is happening in my classroom by visiting my wiki.

  • In English I, we are presenting our Greek Mythology Product Projects and we will begin reading Homer's Odyssey.
  • In Journalism I, we are writing news stories based on interviews we conducted.
  • In Yearbook, we begin work on Deadline Two. The Taylor rep is coming today to pick up our pages from Deadline One.
