This week in class
  • In English I, we are finishing reading Romeo and Juliet and will take our fifth vocabulary test.
  • In Journalism I, we are creating sidebars for magazines.
  • In Yearbook, we are doing final touches and will start planning for next year.

Classroom Update

Time is flying by... only nine weeks left of school.

Some announcements
  • Fifth six weeks progress reports were submitted today, and will go out later this week.

This week in class
  • In English I, we are continuing our study of Romeo and Juliet.
  • In Journalism I, we are finishing our magazine logos and will start learning about sidebars.
  • In Yearbook, we are finalizing the proofs for the yearbook. Then we will be done!

Weekly Update

Today is the first day of the fifth six weeks.

Some announcements
  • TAKS testing for English/Language Arts will be on Wednesday for all students in grades 9-11.
  • Be sure your student gets a great night's sleep on Tuesday and wears something comfortable to school on Wednesday.
  • Seniors who have already passed TAKS don't have to be at school on Wednesday until 12:30. They should meet in the Commons area.
This week in class
  • English I TAKS test - Wednesday. We are also continuing our study of Night.
  • In Journalism I, we are finishing up the first drafts of the feature stories for our magazines, then we will move on to some layout.
  • In Yearbook, we are working furiously to finish. Our final deadline is before spring break.

This week in class
  • In English I, we are continuing to study Elie Wiesel's book about the Holocaust, Night. Click here for class information, including objectives covered, vocabulary words, activities and downloadable worksheets. On Wednesday, four World War II veterans will visit class.
  • In Journalism I, we are working on feature stories for our magazines. To see their project web sites, click here.
  • In Yearbook, we are hard at work on finishing the book. The final deadline is the week before spring break.
